Sizes

You may wonder, which size plaque do I need? I wish I could answer you as easily as "small for 6 months or younger, medium for 6-12 months, and large for 1-2 years and x large for 2-6 years or older". The problem is that some companies do this, but quite honestly, you really can't tell what size plaque you may need until you actually do the printing. Always go a size up. Clay shrinks 6-12%, which can be 1/4inch to 3/4 inch difference. The prints are always bigger than you think, especially feet for some reason. I have had several instances when someone ordered a "very small plaque" and I quoted them a price, then when they did the printing, found that they actually needed a large plaque which is more expensive. Take into consideration space needed for stamping or fancy borders that need extra space. Children vary wildly in size: I recently did a printing of a little girl and the order said 7 weeks, but her handprints were larger than my 18 month old girl. I thought for sure she meant 7 months, but sure enough, the order was correct, 7 weeks!
