How Long Does It Take?
Step 1:Clay is prepared before customer comes.
Step 2:Raw clay is rolled out and the print is taken. Customer goes home.
Step 3:Shape is cut. Holes are cut. Stamping is done.
Step 4:Clay is dried SLOWLY, covered, and takes at least a week to dry.
Step 5:Bone dry clay is then fired to 2000 degrees to make it "bisque". 2 Days
Step 6:Bisque is then painted with glazes. Dries overnight.
Step 7:Stilted on pins, then fired again to 1800 degrees. 2 days again.
Step 8:Unloaded and grinded down. Ribbons cut, hangers glued on, and wrapped for pickup.
Altogether, 4-6weeks is the ideal time from start to finish. You can see, there is a lot of work that goes into even a simple handprint behind the scenes, and that is really what you pay for.

Thank you so much for our beautiful plaques! You were more than gracious to listen to our ideas and turn them into memorable art. Footprints in the sand were a huge hit with our parents for gifts!
